Festive Nail Care
Over the festive and colder period, we will be using our hands to decorate our trees, clean, cook and wrap up presents. All these tasks can cause the gel polish bonds to break this can cause nail chipping, peeling, and lifting.
Here are my Top Tips to looking after your nails:
- Use a spoon to open cans and tins as using your fingers can cause your gel polish to lift
- Wear gloves if you are preparing food with spices such Turmeric
- Wear gloves to wash up as water breaks down gel bonds and gloves will help to prevent lifting and chipping
- Wear woolly gloves/mittens if you are spending extended periods of time outside as this will help to prevent dry hands and cuticles
- Apply cuticle oil 2-3 times a day to help to increase longevity of your manicure
- Wear gloves when you are cleaning as cleaning products have harsh chemicals that can be very drying on the nails and gloves help protect them!
